09/15/2008 RACES CANCELLED!!!

The races for this evening are cancelled due to standing water on the track. Do not forget about the double point race this Sat. We are also going to postpone the nominating and electing of the 2009 board and track director. We will notify as many people as possible to the change in time and venue for voting and will also post it to the website and hotline as soon as a decision is made.

9/15/2008 we will be voting in the 2009 board and track director for the upcoming BMX season, if you or anyone you know is possibly interested in any of the positions please let one of the current board members know so we can be sure to get them on the ballot. If anyone has any questions regarding this please feel free to contact a current board member. The vote will take place after the races on 9/15/2008 Please watch the website for alternate voting locations if the weather forces cancellation of the races for 9/15

REMAINING SEASON SCHEDULE

There will be two final events of the 2008 racing season:

Monday night, September 15th will be our last regularly scheduled season event. Registration will be from 5:30 to 6:30 with racing to start promptly at 6:35. Of course, this is dependent upon the weather cooperating. In the event we cancel due to weather, there will be no make-up race.

Saturday, September 20th will be the make-up race for our Double Points Event that was cancelled on Sunday September 7th. Registration will be from 11:00 to 12:00 with racing to start promptly at 12:15. Registration Feee is $20.00. Of course, this is dependent upon the weather cooperating. In the event we cancel due to weather, there will be no make-up race.

In either case, please continue to check the website and call our hotline at 793-8285 for up to date information.

9/1/08 Make up race tonight!!!! Racing starts at 6:30

The make up race from 9/1 will be held tonight with RACING starting at 6:30........practice will start at approx. 5:30.........Only racers that were registered the night of 9/01 will be able to race, we can not take any new registrations.

The track was inspected at 3:30 and is still quite saturated. It is a remote possibility that it would dry out by 6:30, however, with inclement weather heading our way (possibly severe) we have decided to cancel tonight's race. We'll see you all at the DOUBLE POINT EVENT on SATURDAY!!!

As of 1:00pm today the track is very saturated with standing water in some areas. We will consider racing this evening if the sun comes out and there's no more rain today. Please check back between 3:00 and 4:00 today or call the hotiline at 793-8285 for a final decision on tonight's race. Thank You!

As of 9:00pm Thursday evening we can rule out Option 1 of our contingency options. At this time our plan is to attempt racing on Saturday with a registration time of 5:00pm. We will at least register and drop one gate, per ABA Rules, before considering moving the race to Sunday. If the race is moved to Sunday, there will be two races. The ND State Qualifier will be the first race. Race times to be determined. Please let your friends know that FRIDAY'S RACE IS CANCELLED. Please keep checking website for further developments. Also, if the ND State Qualifier race is to be rescheduled, we will announce the new date shortly after the cancellation. The weekend of June 13th conflicts with another event so please keep checking this site. Thank You!

Contingencies for Upcoming ND State Qualifier

Well, Murphy's Law sure is threatening to kick in. The weather just doesn't look very promising. The current condition of the track, which has taken rain for the last three days, is very poor. Although there was minimal rain yesterday, as of 11:00 today, Thursday, it is still quite saturated. That being said, here are the options we are considering:

1. We get very lucky and the predicted storms miss us which leaves the schedule as is.

2. We get minimal rain over the next 24 hrs and only cancel Friday night's event.

3. We get the storms that are predicted and and try to race late Saturday (Maybe 6:00 or 7:00). If we attempt to race Saturday and it is determined after the first gate that the conditions are still too extreme, then we postpone Saturdays event and hold two races on Sunday.

4. If it appears that we simply took on too much rain, we will reschedule, preferable to the weekend of June 13th, 14th and 15th, however, details will follow.

Please understand we are trying to be considerate to the folks joining us from out-of-town. We will be updating this information and communicating which option looks best as soon as the weather gives us a distinct indication. Opening Night Excitement

As a West Fargo BMX Board Member I am pleased to announce that Monday nights racing event was awesome!! We had so many new riders that the registration area reminded me of bees nest. As the season progresses we will experience a huge decrease in the time it takes to get racers registered and motos printed. PLEASE REMEMBER: ALWAYS BRING YOUR UP-TO-DATE AMA CARD AS WE SCAN THOSE IN TO THE COMPUTER AT REGISTRATION. That way there are no entry errors or typing time. Please come back and see us again Monday, weather permitting, and we'll have a blast!

Remember also that we have a limited number of loaner bikes for new riders only. First time riders are encouraged to show up and ask for a bike. In the event we don't have enough bikes, the first time rider will have priority over riders who used one in the past.
